Every five years, one spectacular global city is host to Expo, the World’s Fair, drawing upwards of 40 million visitors and bringing nations together like no other event on the planet. The opportunity to host Expo 2025 opens up in 2016. Will Canada be in position to draw this once-in-a-generation event to the Toronto region?
Our expert panel will discuss the long-lasting region-building benefits of hosting Expo 2025 right here in the GTA, including community, infrastructure, transit, tourism and economic development.
Our keynote speaker will be Dr. Vincente Gonzalez Loscertales, Secretary General, Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), the Intergovernmental organization that selects host countries and oversees and regulates all international exhibitions. Dr. Loscertales will showcase the opportunities and challenges for a bid country, including the bidding process and rallying cooperation and support from all three levels of government.
